Intolerances & Sensitivities
What is an Intolerance or Sensitivity ?
Check out our brief video "Food Sensitivity a Simple Explanation"
An intolerance or sensitivity can be symptoms caused by an over-reactive immune system. The intolerance to the trigger takes its name from the tissue the inflammation takes place in, due to the excessive histamine released to help combat the trigger or allergen. The name we most usually relate to being an intolerance or sensitivity shows up as inflamed tissue in different parts of the body. e.g.. ECZEMA inflammation of the skin, ASTHMA inflammation of the windpipe, HAYFEVER inflammation of the nose, eyes, sinus, etc., ARTHRITIS possible histamine causing inflammation of the joints, Other classic Intolerance and hypersensitive symptoms could also include headaches, (incl. migraine). conjunctivitis, gastro-intestinal, overweight, hyperactivity, tiredness, dermatitis, (also acne and boils) etc. to name only a few of the many possible allergy related symptoms.-
Today as we live in a more Health conscious world, how can we be sure that the foods we are eating and the air we are breathing are not poisoning our bodies. Our bodies see intolerances and sensitivites as threats to our systems and are treated in the same way as a nasty bacteria or virus. Even though we assume the foods we are eating are good for us, they could be the root to all our problems and ill health.
It is not always necessary to live a life of Anti-histamines and Cortisone drugs with their possible problems and associated side effects*. These drugs can tend to suppress the problem , they do not necessarily cure it. Which only means the problem can reappear at another time. By following a healthier way of living, eliminating as much as possible the foods, pollens, grains, moulds, chemicals etc. that may be causing a hypersensitive reaction, we can possibly eliminate the symptoms or at least alleviate a lot of the discomfort.
It should be noted that once the body has been cleared of the offending intolerance or sensitivity, and has had time to rebuild itself, the food which once caused a reaction can often be eaten again without any ill-effects (always in moderation of course!!)
Some of the common conditions that we deal with successfully have included but are not limited to.
